Who is this guy?

Hi, my name is Emo Sikkema, I'm a web developer / designer living in Gouda.

I'm currently working as a front-end developer at BURO210 where i help customers to get the best website or webshop for their business. I've worked here for 4 years and learned most of my current development skills here.

Working as a developer i came in contact with many great web designers that gave me the inspiration to follow an education in design myself.

I'm currently in school at HR where I'm learning to become a web designer. previously i worked at Accent Interactive where i maintained customers websites and webshops and created new features on request.

I like playing games and love analyzing their design in both art style, marketing and game design. sometimes i try to recreate existing sites using my current skills to learn new styles and how to implement them.

I am a designer who helps and guides others. When I have learned new things, I like to share this with others and I enjoy helping people when they get stuck with something. I also worked as an internship supervisor at work for a long time, so I also have some experience in this. I often get very technical with my work. I often use a schedule of what I want to finish and make sure that all my results are clearly organized.

In my design challenge I keep track of all my work weekly and I can quickly find it again when necessary. Although I keep a close eye on everything, I am also flexible in my opinions and I am always open to new ideas and interpretations. If someone comes up with a better idea, I'm happy to go along with it and adapt my work accordingly. I also don't mind going along with a group decision if we otherwise wouldn't be able to reach an agreement. For example, during our third design challenge we decided at a late moment to change our entire design and create a new design.
